Green A4 size Residencia Certificates or Green credit card size ones will NO LONGER BE RECOGNISED BY THE EES (Entry Exit System) in Spain or any other Schengen country as soon as EU legislation comes into force this autumn.
The British Ambassador to Spain, Sir Alex Ellis, has personally communicated to Age Concern and other charitable organisations so that we could advise those British residents who are still using the Green A4 size Residencia Certificates or Green credit card size ones that they will NO LONGER BE RECOGNISED BY THE EES (Entry Exit System) in Spain or any other Schengen country as soon as EU legislation comes into force this autumn.
What does this mean. It means that it is of upmost importance that you exchange your green certificate for the TIE card. More information is available on link: http://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-spain#visas-and-residency (to obtain the hashtag sign on a numeric keyboard/pad press and hold the Alt key and then type 35 and let go the symbol should appear).
If you are encountering issues with appointments in your area with Estranjeria please contact the Embassy and they will endeavour to assist with unblocking them with the pertinent authority.

On the other hand if you prefer contact a professional i.e. Gestoria/abogado etc. Age Concern does not assist with this process.

Should the case arise and any Resident of any age requiring any Services from the Consell de Mallorca-Council of Mallorca/Govern Balear-Balearic Government/IB Salud-Balearic Islands National Health/Instituto Nacional de Seguridad Social-Spanish Social Security National Health System/Ayuntamiento-Municipal Town Halls, all utility providers etc. of any description to access such Services will be the TIE card, so it is strongly advised to obtain the TIE card the Green Sheet/card will not longer be valid.
